Haiku Weekly will now be published every Monday, in order to incorporate Saturday and Sunday's Word of the Day. It will also allow me to publish the blog post in the morning irrelevant of time zones.
I hope you enjoy this week's haiku and I look forward to reading your own creations.

Monday: bumbershoot
For this heavy rain
Only bumbershoot will do -
No flimsy brollies!
Tuesday: shrive
The penitent man
Beseeches the priest to shrive
And accepts penance.
Wednesday: malfeasance
Unfailingly good,
Tempted not with malfeasance.
A man you can trust.
Thursday: crocodilian
Cries "Intolerance!"
Other's views dismissed. Oh how
Crocodilian!
Friday: hydra
Nine headed serpent,
One becomes two when cut off.
Hydra hides in marsh.
Saturday: lotus-eater
The lotus-eater:
Oblivious day dreamer
Leads to fruitless life.
Sunday: salaam
Arabic neighbours
Greet one another with peace:
Salaam Alaikum.
