You know you're a writer when you write a haiku about how to write a haiku:

To write a haiku:

Five syllables first and third

Seven for line two.

I would love to read your own haiku featuring one of this week's dictionary.com's word of the day.

Monday: statecraft

Effective statecraft,

Mastered by good diplomats Ambassadors too.

Tuesday: excoriate

I made a mistake. Excoriated harshly - And in public too!

Wednesday: dudgeon

I have a question... Why is dudgeon always 'high'? Never 'low' or 'flat'!

Thursday: beastie

I do not know why Fairy tales and nursery rhymes Have talking beasties.

Friday: scapegrace

He's at it again,

Teasing, taunting, playing tricks -

The cheeky scapegrace!
